Instagram stories

Right before my trip to Vietnam and Cambodia, a friend coerced me into agreeing to create Instagram stories during my time here. I had never created Instagram stories before and decided to give it a shot. I don't normally view the Instagram stories posted by others as well as I have most stories muted, but decided that I might just be finding it easy to ignore the unfamiliar that to deal with it. So, I decided to give it a shot.

As a result, I've been posting Instagram stories over the past few days. I've come to like the medium and have ended up not posting any pictures as a result and have stuck to stories.

When we have a conversation with someone, that conversation isn't recorded for ever. A lot of the time, our conversations aren't really about the topic being discussed itself, but merely about the connection we are making with another person or a group of people.

Posting ephemeral stories on Instagram has felt more like conversation and less like creating a travel photo album.

Maybe it's just the novelty, maybe it isn't. But, I'm glad I gave this experiment a shot. I don't know if I'll stick to this or revert back to travel photos, but I'll unmute some of the stories of others for sure.
