An hour a day

In order to learn anything new, there is simply one simple trick. To spend an hour a day reading and / or practicing.

It could be learning a new language (spoken or programming), it could be learning to play an instrument, it could be learning a new topic. What needs to be done doesn't change. It still requires a dedicated and regular practice (as well as exposure).

The entire school and University model is structured around this idea. This is why there are one-hour lectures at most once a day on any given topic.

Too much causes overwhelm and too little leads to forgetting what we just consumed.

Over the years, I've found that anywhere between thirty minutes to an hour a day is the right amount. It could be different for you. But it will only be the daily dosage that will be different. Everyone needs the frequency.

Are you spending an hour a day learning something?
