Changing Environments

As we grow up, we learn how to interact with people, based on the people that are around us. We learn how to assert ourselves, how to negotiate, how to throw a tantrum, how to advocate for our ideas, how to debate, and so on.

If we take these learnings and then move into a new environment, be it a new city, a new school, a new company, or even a new set of friends and people that we interact with, then the same learnings don't always hold true.

Given the cultural setting and context of the new environment we're in, we need to un-learn and re-learn a lot of what we have learnt.

The trouble arises when we are confident of what we've learnt in one environment and think that the same applies in a different environment.
