On Freedom

We talk of freedom in terms of financial freedom, being able to do the things we want without any restrictions, being able to make the choices that we want, etc.

What all of this boils down to is to be in a situation where the negative consequences of our choices and decisions don't have a long-term adverse effect on us.

And yet, it is that fear of the potential adverse effects that drives us, motivates us and leads us to do great things that we would otherwise not be able to do.

What we need is such a freedom where this fear of adverse consequences doesn't end up being so debilitating as to bring us to a state of inaction.
